Peace Corps Evaluations
Congratulations on having received a conditional invitation to serve in the Peace Corps! Navigating the medical clearance process can feel overwhelming, especially when you are asked to provide a specialized mental health evaluation.
The Peace Corps requires these evaluations to ensure you have the resilience, coping strategies, and support tools needed to thrive in a high-stress, developing-country environment with limited medical resources and limited access to your usual support people and/or strategies.
I offer comprehensive, professional mental health clearance evaluations designed specifically to meet the Peace Corps’ criteria. My goal is to provide a thorough, objective assessment while ensuring your paperwork is completed accurately and returned to you well ahead of your portal deadline.
What is Included in Your Evaluation
Comprehensive Clinical Interview: A deep dive into your mental health history, coping strategies, and readiness for international service.
Official Documentation Completion: Thorough preparation of the required Peace Corps Mental Health Summary and Treatment forms.
Timely Turnaround: Completed paperwork delivered promptly to ensure you meet your strict Peace Corps portal deadlines.
Reimbursement Documentation: Itemized receipts/superbills provided so you can submit them to the Peace Corps for medical clearance cost reimbursement
How It Works
Step 1: Consultation
Contact me to schedule a free, virtual, 20-minute consultation to ensure that I can work with your evaluation and timeline needs. This will require a few forms to complete online.
Step 2: Evaluation
I will meet with you via virtually or in-person to complete the evaluation. Usually this takes 90 - 120 minutes. Typically only one appointment is required, but sometimes it can take two.
I will ask you a lot of questions about your life, your mental health, and how you plan to cope with some of the challenges that are a part of service in the Peace Corps. There will be some additional paperwork for you to complete.
Step 3: Completion of Forms
I will complete the Mental Health Treatment and Summary form. You will have a chance to review a draft before I officially submit it to you.
Fees
I charge an hourly rate of $300 per hour.
Psychological Evaluation = $300 per hour (90 - 120 minutes)
Review of prior mental health records, completion of documentation = pro-rated at $300 an hour. For example: if I spend 30 minutes on these tasks, the fee will be $150.
Typical fees range from $750 - $1200 for the entire evaluation.
Please contact me as soon as you know you are interested in an evaluation. Sometimes they can take longer than expected, especially if you need to gather any information from past mental health services and I need to review any past mental health records.
