Autism and
Neurodivergent Support
As a person on the spectrum, your experience of the world might be like this.
No two autistic people are exactly the same. While some of these experiences might resonate deeply with you, others may not apply at all.
Sensory Processing:
Your filter may stay wide open at maximum volume, or stay tightly closed.
Brain Power:
You notice separate details simultaneously rather than processing one cohesive picture.
Double Empathy: Communication can feel like an exhausting language barrier with neurotypicals.
Deep Interests:
You are an expert on your core passions, which provide joy and focus.
Social Relationships: You may have a long history of social rejection and feel lonely around others.
Communication:
You feel unfairly blamed as the only one communicating "incorrectly."
Masking & Burnout: You are completely exhausted from hiding your natural traits just to fit in.
Energy Dynamics:
You are built for deep focus, but a mismatched world leaves you drained.
Predictability: Routines, structure, and predictability act as essential anchors in a chaotic world.
Your brain is also capable of some truly incredible things:
Just like before, because no two autistic people are the same, some or none of these strengths may describe your specific experience.
Expert Knowledge: You hold a deep, encyclopedic mastery over your core passions and unique interests.
Pattern Recognition: Your brain excels at mapping information and finding connections that others completely miss.
Vivid Memory: You process the world with exceptional accuracy, often remembering intricate details perfectly.
Justice Mindset: You possess a powerful moral compass and feel a deep, authentic drive to oppose unfairness.
Unique Perspective: You see the world from an entirely different angle, offering innovative and creative insights.
Deep Empathy: You possess an incredibly sensitive emotional dial, attuned to others’ feelings with profound depth and resonance.

-
I began my career supporting autistic children at the Esther B. Clark School in Palo Alto, focusing on sensory navigation and life transitions. I later trained at Denver Children’s Hospital, collaborating with families on daily life strategies. Before starting a private practice, I spent 16 years supporting university students to help them manage the unique executive, sensory, and social demands of campus life.

Not at this time. Because autism can overlap with traits like ADHD or anxiety, a comprehensive psychological evaluation is highly valuable for finding clarity. I am currently completing advanced training to refresh my testing skills so I can offer formal assessments in the future. In the meantime, I am happy to help connect you with trusted, doctorate-level psychologists who specialize in adult diagnosis.
